Part-Time Night Mobility Technician – Oncology

About the role

The Mobility Technician assists patients with general mobility tasks, exercises and functional activities as assigned by clinical staff during night shifts. This part‑time position supports oncology patients in a hospital setting, ensuring safe movement and adherence to care protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobilization, transfers, ambulation, and use of lifts according to the Progressive Mobility Protocol (PMP).
• Gather and document patient information in EPIC, inspect and maintain mobility equipment, and communicate patient responses to the interprofessional team.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and physicians to support delegated treatment plan activities and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred experience in patient care or therapy settings.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work two 12‑hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) with rotating weekends.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with computer software, web‑based applications, and EPIC electronic health record system.
• Knowledge of the Progressive Mobility Protocol and infection‑control procedures.
