Part-Time Maintenance Technician

About the role

Legends Global, a partner to live events, venues and brands, is hiring a part-time Maintenance Technician in Laredo, Texas, reporting to the Director of Operations. The role covers repairs, preventative maintenance and painting support on event venues.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware repair and simple plumbing fixes.
• Assist other maintenance mechanics with routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, controllers and electro/mechanical devices.
• Respond to building service calls, troubleshoot facility problems and take corrective action.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on domestic water systems and related mechanical systems.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and refinishing, and operate, clean and maintain painting equipment including brushes, rollers, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers.
• Follow building codes, the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operating procedures.
• Label, store equipment and supplies safely, record and log work, complete work orders and reports, and promote a safe working environment.
• Operate light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, access lifts and other light power-driven equipment; work at heights with correct safety equipment.
• Develop and submit lists of repairs and improvements, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or two years of comparable experience plus related experience.
• Two years of experience operating and maintaining building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety).
• Preferred: technical training in HVAC, apprentice electrician license, EPA Universal certification, and a U.S. driver's license.
• Able to lift 75 lbs, stand and work on feet for 8-10 hours a day, and work inside or outside the building as needed.
