Part-time Food Service Worker – Columbus GA

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a motivated individual to join the food service team at the Aaron Cohn RYDC facility in Columbus. This part-time position works up to 29 hours per week, providing hands‑on experience in preparing and serving food while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Prepare, peel, slice, and trim food items using manual and electric kitchen appliances.
• Assist with food supply requisitions, sanitation, and maintenance inspections.
• Receive and process payments for food items.
• Replenish supplies at steam tables and service bars.
• Store food in designated containers to prevent spoilage.
• Unpack and store raw and prepared food products.

Required profile

• Passion for food service and desire for advancement.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and learn cooking and service procedures.
• Availability for day shift, less than 30 hours per week.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, or training that equips you for the duties.
