Part-Time Campus Police Officer

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Part‑Time Campus Police Officer to provide law‑enforcement and public‑safety services on the South Georgia Technical College campus in Americus. This position supports a safe learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and grounds, monitor security systems, and respond to alarms.
• Investigate incidents, prepare detailed reports, and enforce college policies, state and local laws.
• Coordinate with Georgia State Patrol and other law‑enforcement agencies during emergencies.
• Provide escorts, personal protection, traffic control for events, and support disaster‑drill activities.
• Inspect facilities for safety concerns and assist with emergency response as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Georgia P.O.S.T. certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and handle varying shift schedules.
• Valid driver’s license with proof of insurability.
