Part-Time Board Operator – Radio Broadcasting

About the role

Connoisseur Media is seeking a motivated part‑time Board Operator to support KOKA 980 AM in Shreveport, LA. You will ensure seamless on‑air playback of live and pre‑recorded content during weekday mid‑day hours and additional weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the on‑air console and audio controls for live and automated programming.
• Monitor station transmitters and log any discrepancies accurately.
• Maintain studio equipment, logs, and follow emergency procedures for signal loss or computer crashes.
• Communicate promptly with the Program Director regarding any broadcast issues.
• Work Monday‑Friday 10 AM‑3 PM and provide four hours of coverage on weekends.

Required profile

• Availability to work mid‑day weekdays and weekends.
• Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.
• Understanding of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) legal requirements.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels.
• Proficiency in running radio automation systems.

Required skills

• FCC regulatory knowledge.

• Radio automation system experience (e.g., Marketron).
• On‑air console and audio control operation.
