About the role
iHeartMedia Markets is hiring a part-time Board Operator / Producer in Louisville, Kentucky, to provide programming and control board support to on-air talent. The role is regular, paid hourly, and involves operating the control board for studio and remote programming.
Key responsibilities
- Operate the control board for studios and remote programming
- Regulate program timing, run syndicated programming and play commercials
- Monitor the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from the master control room
- Support off-air commercial production, dub music to hard disk and manage programming automation computers
- Protect the station's license by censoring live programs and removing words or phrases not permitted on air
- Execute playlists for server, tape or simulcast programming
- Adjust signal and programming content so transmissions meet federally mandated broadcast standards
- Process time-out programming and monitor and update weather, traffic and news reports into automation equipment
- Check studio equipment and notify Engineering of malfunctions affecting broadcast quality
- Screen incoming phone calls and select callers for on-air talent and talk shows
- Handle emergency inserts such as news updates, breaking stories and alert system tests
Required profile
- Flexibility for evenings, overnight hours and weekends
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
- Previous experience in a related role and/or technical training
- Ability to follow standardized procedures, escalate when needed and solve straightforward problems
- Close attention to detail and common courtesy with coworkers and external contacts
Required skills
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
