Part-time Adult Education ESL Instructor – Adairsville

About the role

This part‑time position with the State of Georgia’s Adult Education program focuses on delivering English as a Second Language instruction in a workplace setting. The instructor will work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing learners with the language skills needed for daily tasks and civic participation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver effective instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening aligned with Workplace Literacy Standards.
• Prepare and use lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate for adult learners.
• Provide guidance, orientation, and support to students, including those with special needs.
• Monitor attendance, contact absentees, and maintain a secure classroom environment.
• Evaluate student progress, record outcomes, and submit required reports and retention data.

Required profile

• Experience teaching ESL to adult learners, preferably in a workplace or community setting.
• Ability to adapt materials for diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills for documentation, reporting, and classroom management.
• Clear communication skills and a commitment to fostering lifelong learning.
