About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a certified Paramedic to join its Clinical Support team. In this role you will provide pre‑hospital emergency care, support patient transport, and collaborate with the broader clinical staff to ensure high‑quality medical services for the community.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions on scene.
- Administer appropriate emergency treatments, including medication, airway management, and trauma care.
- Transport patients safely to designated medical facilities while maintaining continuous monitoring.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record system.
- Maintain and inspect EMS equipment and supplies to ensure readiness.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during hand‑offs and multidisciplinary care.
Required profile
- Current state certification as a Paramedic.
- Valid Arkansas license to practice as a Paramedic.
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
Required skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficient patient assessment and emergency medical procedures.
- Skilled use of EMS equipment, including defibrillators and ventilators.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
