Outside Sales Representative - Baltimore

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) in the Baltimore area. The OSR drives incremental sales growth and profitability through account relationships, focusing on complex business expansion and new business development. The role works with the Pro Sales Manager to meet or exceed sales and margin targets, using data and customer insights to shape local strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate net-new sales relationships: attend local community events to promote the Pro brand, sell all products and services including commercial credit, volume pricing, delivery, will-call pickup and online ordering, and produce new account revenue against individual targets.
• Hold in-person sales appointments with assigned customers and develop strategies to expand the customer base within the territory.
• Prospect for new business using leads from the internal Sales Development team and from existing customers, stores and the community.
• Use Salesforce to plan sales calls, manage customer communications and maintain a healthy pipeline.
• Work with the Inside Sales Support Representative on quoting, ordering and transactions, and report weekly activities to the Pro Sales Manager.

Required profile

• Able to work 18 years or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED; minimum 2 years of work experience (5 years preferred).
• Preferred: 2+ years of account management or sales management experience, and 2+ years in the home improvement or home building industry.
• Preferred: strong relationship-building, leadership and negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and a deep understanding of Pro customer needs.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
• Salesforce (used for pipeline management)

Travel is typically required 20% to 50% of the time, with occasional overnight trips. The pay range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000.
