About the role
The Operating Room Service Assistant supports the Neuro/Spine team by preparing the OR, transporting patients, and maintaining sterile conditions. This full‑time position works on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing hands‑on experience with surgical instruments and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain surgical instrument sets and equipment, ensuring proper sterile conditions.
- Provide limited assistance to surgeons, such as holding retractors, suctioning, and sponging wounds.
- Clean and assemble used instruments after surgery for proper sterilization.
- Order supplies, stock storage areas, and keep the OR environment safe.
- Assist in transporting patients and support RN in maintaining a safe patient environment.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Sterile Processing Certification (preferred).
- Two years of experience in sterile processing (preferred).
