Operations Co‑Op – MedTech

About the role

The Operations Co‑Op will support a MedTech department in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, working on projects that improve process efficiency, reduce cycle time and cost, and enhance overall quality. Under the guidance of a mentor, the student will apply project‑management and process‑excellence methodologies to real‑world challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Execute projects that increase process efficiencies and reduce cycle time using FPX and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
• Develop and verify specifications, maintain documentation, and test processes, equipment, raw materials and products.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Completed at least two years of undergraduate study (freshman year completed) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher and in good academic standing.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English with strong written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Visio and Minitab (highly desirable).
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma process‑excellence methodologies.
• Ability to apply project‑management techniques to assess issues and prioritize actions.
