Business Excellence Engineering Co‑Op

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Business Excellence Engineering Co‑Op to join its MedTech division in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. The 12‑month co‑op runs from January to December 2027 and offers a full‑time, on‑site experience working on projects that improve process efficiency, reduce cycle time, and enhance quality.

Key responsibilities

• Execute projects using process‑excellence methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Support simple project or product development tasks, including writing specifications, maintaining documentation, testing processes, and validating equipment.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and occupational health policies (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).

Required profile

• Completed at least two years of undergraduate study (freshman year completed) in Industrial, Mechanical, or related engineering.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English with strong written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Visio and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Minitab and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to assess issues, prioritize, and act with urgency.
