Open Rank Clinical Professor & Director of Clinical Education, PA Program

About the role

The Department of Medical Sciences at Northeastern seeks an Open Rank Clinical Professor who will also serve as Director of Clinical Education for the Physician Assistant (PA) Program on the Seattle campus. This 52‑week, full‑time, non‑tenure‑track faculty position provides strategic and operational leadership for the clinical component of the curriculum while also teaching didactic courses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, assessment and continuous improvement of the clinical phase of the PA program, ensuring compliance with ARC‑PA standards.
• Maintain and expand clinical partnership sites, conduct site visits, and oversee preceptor recruitment and development.
• Teach didactic courses, mentor students, and participate in curriculum design and accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with the Program Director and other faculty on admissions, student performance evaluation, and remediation planning.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in a health‑related field; doctoral degree preferred.
• Current professional licensure (NCCPA certification for PAs or board certification for physicians) and eligibility for Washington state licensure.
• Minimum two years of clinical practice and experience in PA education or program administration.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
