Oncology Nurse Navigator

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring an Oncology Nurse Navigator. The Nurse Navigator acts as a single point of contact for referring physicians, patients and caregivers, helping them overcome treatment barriers and speeding access to clinical and supportive care services within the center's program and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain an updated treatment plan for each patient to synchronize care management between the medical team and the patient.
• Assist with patient appointments, including those with labs, diagnostic facilities and specialty physicians.
• Provide resources and assistance to patients referred by physicians.
• Carry out community outreach, including public speaking and promotion of the program and the Jupiter Medical Center system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• Five years of nursing experience, with three in an oncology-related field preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology disease processes and symptom management.
• Ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Completion of annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and maintenance of required licenses and certifications.

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in building relationships and coordinating all aspects of care.
• Ability to work independently within scope of practice and to interpret and resolve difficulties in patient care.
• Knowledge of physician office processes.
