Oncology Nurse Navigator

About the role

Aoncology is hiring an Oncology Nurse Navigator (RN) for its Central Georgia Cancer Care practice. The navigator uses oncology-specific clinical knowledge to give individualized support to patients, families and caregivers, helping them overcome healthcare system barriers and access quality health and psychosocial care throughout the cancer continuum. The role also covers program coordination, education, clinical trial access and outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care for those with a past, current or potential cancer diagnosis, following NCCN guidelines, and extend services to nutrition, home health, DME and hospice
• Provide education and resources so patients can make informed decisions and access timely care
• Ensure effective communication and customer service, share quarterly patient services data with the director, and take part in accreditation committees
• Work with healthcare providers on potential trials, screen and consent patients, and help start trials including regimen requests and blinded study requirements
• Support cancer survivorship planning, advanced care planning, and outreach programs with a lay navigator
• Help coordinate specialty infusion services, provide marketing materials to providers, patients and families, and perform other assigned duties

Required profile

• Registered Nurse; minimum Associate degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
• At least 5 years of oncology nursing experience; clinical trial experience preferred
• OCN certification required; BLSONN certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and compliance with the company driver safety policy
• Ability to work remotely as required and in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
