On-Call Biometrics Technician (Fingerprint)

About the role

We are seeking an on‑call Biometrics Technician to support the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Application Support Center in St. Thomas, USVI. The role is casual, with employees called in as needed to provide fingerprint, photo and signature capture for immigration applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform biometric registration, including electronic fingerprint, photograph and signature capture, within established processing times.
• Screen visitors, verify appointment notices and identification, and manage crowd control using barriers.
• Provide front‑line customer service, ensuring applicants are treated with respect and sensitivity.
• Safeguard personal identifiable information (PII) such as paperwork, IDs and biometric data.
• Assist ASC staff in enforcing facility rules and policies.

Required profile

• Available Monday‑Friday, 7:45 am‑4:15 pm for on‑call coverage, with flexibility to respond on short notice.
• Ability to work in a public‑facing environment with a courteous and professional demeanor.
• Attention to detail and commitment to protecting confidential information.
