Office and Events Manager

About the role

Security Level 5 is a Bay Area AI security nonprofit working with AI labs and US intelligence agencies to defend frontier models from nation‑state threats. We are rapidly expanding and looking for an Office and Events Manager to set up and run our new San Francisco office and own our event program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the move‑in, selection, procurement and build‑out of the new San Francisco office, coordinating suppliers, vendors and access management.
• Manage day‑to‑day office operations, including facilities, food services, expense and travel policies, and respond to employee requests.
• Own end‑to‑end event planning: happy hours, conference logistics, quarterly onsites and external organization events, handling speaker coordination, AV, catering and on‑site execution.
• Create and maintain templates, checklists, budgets and documentation to streamline future events and office processes.
• Select and administer office and event tools, keeping policies and procedures up to date.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in office management, events, operations or executive support, preferably in a startup or high‑performing nonprofit.
• Proven ability to run multiple events at different planning stages without losing detail.
• Process‑oriented mindset with strong focus on attendee experience and the small touches that make a space feel cared for.
• Service‑minded, comfortable with repetitive tasks and motivated by impact over glamour.
• Willingness to work flexible hours for events and a strong commitment to the mission of safe AI development.

What we offer

• Base salary $120,000 - $160,000 USD per year.
