Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Hand Therapy (PRN)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus seeks a PRN Occupational Therapist specialized in outpatient hand therapy. Work hours are between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday‑Friday, with no weekend or holiday requirements. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with upper‑extremity injuries, disease, or disability and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic techniques such as passive/active range of motion, joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release, desensitization, dressing changes, and job simulation.
• Apply thermal and electrical modalities including hot/cold packs, fluidotherapy, paraffin/contrast baths, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, NMES, HVPGS, iontophoresis, and biofeedback.
• Fabricate custom splints, select adaptive devices, and train patients in their use.
• Document progress, communicate with physicians, families, and other caregivers, and submit status reports for work‑related cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an AOTA‑accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current Ohio OT licensure and Basic Life Support certification.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance as per policy.
• Physical ability to assist patients with mobility and therapeutic tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in hand‑therapy techniques: P/ROM, joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release, desensitization, dressing changes, job simulation.
• Experience with thermal and electrical modalities: hot/cold packs, fluidotherapy, paraffin/contrast baths, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, NMES, HVPGS, iontophoresis, biofeedback.
• Custom splint fabrication and adaptive device selection.
