Occupational Safety Coordinator

About the role

The Occupational Safety Coordinator supports the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) by ensuring a safe work environment across campus operations. This position focuses on investigations, inspections, and compliance with chemical and occupational safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections and investigations of incidents and near‑miss events.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and university safety policies.
• Provide guidance on chemical safety and hazardous material handling.
• Develop and deliver safety training and educational materials for staff and students.
• Document findings, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Current University of Arkansas System employee or eligible graduate assistant.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States.

Required skills
