Public Safety Dispatcher (HE)

About the role

The HE Public Safety Dispatcher provides central dispatch services for the university's public safety department, coordinating officers and responding to emergency calls. This position operates within a fast‑paced environment, ensuring timely assistance and accurate communication.

Key responsibilities

• Operate computer consoles, video monitoring equipment and other communication devices to receive assistance requests.
• Identify the nature of each situation and dispatch public safety officers or other personnel as required.
• Receive calls from monitoring companies for fire, security, and environmental alarms and notify the appropriate authority.
• Maintain accurate records of calls and communications transmissions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of specialized training in communications or a related field.
