Nursing Professional Development Specialist – Students/Faculty

About the role

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist supports the Cleveland Clinic mission by planning, delivering, and evaluating orientation and ongoing professional development for nursing staff, students, and faculty across the Main Campus and other locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and assess educational programs based on nursing staff knowledge, skills, and learning levels.
• Identify learning needs, develop curricula, and create evaluation systems to measure program effectiveness.
• Consult with Nursing Institute, Ambulatory Nursing, CCF, and community partners on professional practice.
• Assist in developing department-specific orientation, competencies, and staff onboarding.
• Maintain a cataloging system for teaching‑learning resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and current RN licensure.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience, including preceptor or instructor roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of education methodology, needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
• Strong presentation skills.
