Nursing Professional Development Specialist – Medical/Surgical – Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist will support the Neuro service line at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing education, clinical support, and mentorship to nursing staff. The position is full‑time, day‑shift, with occasional travel to other locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs based on nursing staff knowledge and skill levels.
• Conduct unit rounding (≈20% of time) to provide direct clinical education and support.
• Identify learning needs, develop curricula, and assess the effectiveness of educational activities.
• Assist with orientation, competency development, and staff onboarding.
• Maintain a catalog of teaching‑learning resources and ensure their accessibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and current RN licensure.
• At least two years of recent clinical nursing experience, including preceptorship or instructor roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and curriculum development.
• Strong presentation and communication abilities.

Required skills

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
