Nursing Professional Development Specialist – Critical Care – Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute is expanding its state‑of‑the‑art facility and seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to support education for the Neuro service line. This full‑time, day‑shift position will design and deliver learning programs, provide unit rounding, and travel to other sites as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate educational offerings based on nursing staff knowledge and skill levels.
• Conduct unit rounding (≈20% of time) to provide direct clinical support and education.
• Identify learning needs, develop curricula, and assess the effectiveness of training activities.
• Assist with orientation, competency development, and maintain a catalog of teaching resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and current RN licensure.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience, including preceptorship or instructor roles.
• Experience in adult‑learning methodology, needs assessment, and curriculum development.
• Strong presentation and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Basic and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS/ACLS) instruction.
• Curriculum development and instructional design.
• Needs‑assessment and evaluation techniques.
• Presentation and facilitation skills.
