Nursing Faculty - Irving

About the role

Covista, which operates Chamberlain University, is hiring a full-time Nursing Faculty member in Irving, Texas. The role shapes the next generation of healthcare providers through nursing education in classroom, online and clinical settings, including flexible evening and weekend classes. It covers teaching, student evaluation, mentoring, committee work and service and scholarship activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned nursing courses (classroom, online, clinical, lab, simulation) using technology and evidence-based methods
• Contribute to and implement course curriculum and teaching materials
• Evaluate student performance, give feedback and provide remediation
• Lead clinical learning or partner with faculty leading labs, connecting theory to practice
• Support students and new faculty, and take part in committees, graduation and program evaluation
• Engage in scholarly activities and maintain teaching skills through professional development
• Follow student policies (exams, late assignments, attendance) and enforce them

Required profile

• Master's degree in nursing; PhD in a field appropriate to the teaching profession preferred
• Current, unencumbered Texas professional nurse license (or eligibility to obtain it)
• At least 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting
• Experience preparing to teach the assigned courses

Required skills

• Technological expertise with learning management systems, simulation equipment and online platforms, with increasing ability to work with AI
• Excellent communication, conflict management and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment with faculty, the Extended Service Team and clinical partners

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $75,000 to $95,000, adjusted for experience, location and other factors
