Functional Training Manager - Supply Chain

About the role

The Functional Training Manager at The Home Depot facilitates training for both virtual and in-person audiences, covering complex operations and tasks that span broad business areas. The role works with cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert for content development and interacts with many levels and functions inside and outside the learning organization. It is a virtual position based in New Jersey.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on special projects as assigned, partnering with the Learning Design & Development team, Learning Strategy, Manager and functional subject matter experts on the development, maintenance and updates of courses (about 20% of the role)
• Facilitate training sessions for large groups, both in person and online, acting as a subject matter expert on content (about 60% of the role)
• Handle administrative tasks such as calendar planning, attendance and roster management, customer communication and event management (about 20% of the role)
• Manage and support multi-day learning events

Required profile

• Ages 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, ability to explain complex ideas simply, excellent written and verbal communication, and experience facilitating training in person and remotely
• Preferred: no additional education or years of experience required

Required skills

• Preferred: working knowledge of presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint
• Preferred: experience facilitating training in person and remotely, with an understanding of adult learning principles

Travel is typically required 5% to 20% of the time, and the position reports to a Manager or Senior Manager of Learning with no direct reports. The pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents is $80,000 to $160,000.
