Nursery Order Fulfillment Senior Manager

About the role

This senior leadership position oversees end‑to‑end order fulfillment and movement of all plant materials within the U.S. Nursery system and across international borders. The role ensures regulatory compliance, timeliness, quality, and drives continuous improvement in logistics and fulfillment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute movement of Driscoll’s plants domestically and internationally, ensuring compliance with phytosanitary regulations, cold‑chain logistics and timeliness.
• Manage daily carrier activities, maintain strong carrier relationships, and oversee carrier performance.
• Partner with USDA, CDFA and local county agents to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines, mitigating compliance risks.
• Design and continuously improve an enterprise‑wide transportation strategy balancing cost, service, risk and sustainability.
• Lead transportation bidding, carrier selection and contract negotiations using data‑driven market intelligence.
• Manage transportation budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities and evaluate future logistics models.
• Establish carrier scorecards, governance models and drive performance accountability.
• Evaluate and enhance fulfillment and logistics workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manage the Order Management System (OMS) and Plant RAD systems.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in logistics, transportation or supply chain management, preferably in agricultural or nursery environments.
• Proven leadership ability to manage cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international phytosanitary requirements for berries.
• Demonstrated track record of driving process optimization, cost management and continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
