Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Wound Care Clinic (Full‑Time)

About the role

Join Ochsner Health’s Wound Care Clinic in New Orleans as a full‑time advanced practice provider. Working under the supervision of the Medical Director, you will collaborate with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to deliver outpatient care, emergency stabilization, and education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary and urgent medical management for clinic patients, including emergency stabilization of critically ill individuals.
• Teach residents, medical students, and staff; develop educational programs for patients and families.
• Participate in care planning, implementation, and evaluation with PCCs, nurses, and discharge coordinators.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Ochsner’s privacy and conduct standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (or graduate of an approved PA program).
• Current APRN license (Family, Adult/Geriatric, or Pediatric) and/or PA license with NCCPA certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority in the state of practice.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and on‑call.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data‑entry software.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies.
