Nurse Practitioner for Youth Residential Program in Manhattan, KS

About the role

PsyPhyCare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver on‑site primary care for a federally supported residential youth program serving ages 16‑24 in Manhattan, Kansas. This part‑time contract position works within a structured, community‑based environment and supports students’ health needs during fixed weekly hours.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical evaluations within 48 hours of student entry and perform routine physical exams.
• Order, review, and oversee entry laboratory studies such as hemoglobin, pregnancy, STI, HIV, and urine drug screens.
• Administer immunizations, boosters, hepatitis B vaccines, and tuberculin skin testing.
• Perform vision and hearing screenings and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Provide prescription services in coordination with nursing staff and the mental health consultant.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary staff and refer students to off‑site physicians or specialists as needed.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and ensure compliance with federal program standards.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Kansas with ability to practice independently.
• Current DEA registration and CPR/AED certification.
• Active malpractice/professional liability and general liability insurance.
• Preferred experience in adolescent health, family medicine, or community health settings.
