Nurse Manager – Digestive Disease Institute

About the role

The Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic seeks an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the H50 Colorectal Surgery unit. You will oversee nursing care for patients with conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and genetic bowel disease, ensuring high‑quality outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and clinical direction of nursing care on the unit.
• Supervise and develop nursing staff, conduct performance evaluations, and handle hiring or termination processes.
• Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
• Coordinate unit activities with other departments and support interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases, and manage inventory.
• Analyze staffing needs, schedule personnel, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives and support foundation research activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least three years of recent nursing clinical experience, including one year in healthcare management.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing and two years of management experience.
