Nurse Educator 3 – Transition to Practice

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Nurse Educator 3 to lead system‑wide professional development and support new graduate RN transition to practice. This full‑time position combines clinical expertise, mentorship, and data‑driven improvement to advance nursing excellence across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the Titan ‘Canes Nurse Residency Program and other transition‑to‑practice initiatives.
• Support Joint Commission readiness, regulatory compliance, and Magnet readiness through evidence‑based practice and research integration.
• Analyze nurse‑sensitive indicators, Zero Harm metrics, and RN engagement data to identify gaps and drive improvement.
• Mentor council leaders, strengthen Unit‑Based Practice Councils, and promote nursing engagement in organizational decision‑making.
• Serve as a clinical instructor for affiliated Schools of Nursing, providing structured learning experiences and mentorship to nurse scholars.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing (required); Nursing Professional Development certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing education or professional development experience.
• Valid Florida RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, teamwork orientation, and learning agility.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
