NPI Quality Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Engineer focused on mechanical products. The role ensures that new maritime autonomy solutions are designed, developed, and launched in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, supporting scalable and repeatable manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality activities throughout the NPI lifecycle and develop quality plans aligned with program milestones.
• Participate in design reviews, gate reviews, first‑article builds, engineering change reviews, and readiness assessments.
• Conduct and document DFMEA and PFMEA studies, identify critical risks, and drive mitigation actions.
• Define and execute product and process validation activities, including first‑article inspection (FAI) requirements.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality to flow down requirements, support supplier qualification, and ensure inspection alignment.
• Support MRB activities, perform root‑cause analysis, and feed lessons learned into continuous improvement programs.
• Maintain documentation such as control plans, inspection plans, and quality procedures within the QMS.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to NPI activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product quality, NPI, or related engineering roles.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and supplier teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Proficiency in conducting DFMEA and PFMEA analyses.
• Experience developing control plans, inspection plans, and first‑article inspection (FAI) requirements.
• Strong background in root‑cause analysis, MRB processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
