Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (NOASM-IT) for its Colonial Heights store. This is a hands-on training program of up to 6 weeks, combining practical experience, mentorship and leadership development. Trainees learn the duties of a Manager on Duty and focus on overseeing overnight freight operations, working closely with Night Replenishment Managers, the Store Manager, Assistant Store Managers and field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise associates in the selling effort, lead the GET culture and drive customer service and associate engagement
• Perform opening, closing and other whole-store focus responsibilities, and hold associates accountable for company policies and procedures
• Command store SOPs, especially safety compliance, and take steps to mitigate shrink
• Ensure associates follow safety and hazmat procedures and Safety Matters guidelines
• Plan merchandise placement and stock integrity through inventory management, and learn to operate store equipment and systems and manage daily financial operations
• Take part in a structured training program covering operations, customer service, sales and profitability, staffing and scheduling, performance management and the associate disciplinary process

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States and at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED; preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• 3 years of work experience and 3 years of leadership experience preferred
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Working conditions

• Typically reports to the Store Manager with no direct reports
• Overnight travel of less than 5% of the time
• Intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as lifting material or equipment
• Indoor location; pay range $60,000-$80,000 for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents
