Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (NOASM-IT) for its Kingston / Ulster store. The role gives hands-on experience in the key responsibilities of a Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, with a training program of up to 6 weeks that includes mentorship and leadership development. Trainees learn Manager on Duty duties and oversee overnight freight operations, working closely with Night Replenishment Managers, the Store Manager, Assistant Store Managers and field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Customer experience: supervise associates in the selling effort, drive customer service and engagement, and resolve customer concerns promptly
• Operations management: run opening and closing procedures, follow company policies, command store SOPs (especially safety compliance) and reduce shrink
• Safety: ensure self and associates follow safety and hazmat procedures
• Sales and productivity: help plan merchandise placement and stock integrity, maintain and operate store equipment and systems, and manage daily financial operations
• Training: complete a structured program covering operations, customer service, sales and profitability, staffing and scheduling, stock deficiencies, performance reviews and the associate disciplinary process

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States and at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred
• 3 years of work experience and 3 years of leadership experience preferred
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Travel is typically less than 5% overnight, and the work involves intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as lifting and carrying. The pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents is $68,600 - $78,000.
