Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training

About the role

The Home Depot Olive Branch MS Store is hiring a Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (NOASM-IT). This is a hands-on training position of up to 6 weeks, with mentorship and leadership development, focused on overnight freight operations and the duties of a Manager on Duty. The trainee works closely with Night Replenishment Managers, the Store Manager, Assistant Store Managers and field teams, and learns to build strategies that improve sales and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise associates in the selling effort, lead the GET culture and drive customer service and associate engagement
• Perform opening, closing and other whole-store focus responsibilities, and hold associates accountable for company policies and procedures
• Command store SOPs, especially safety compliance, and take steps to mitigate shrink
• Ensure self and associates follow safety and hazmat procedures and Safety Matters guidelines
• Plan merchandise placement and stock integrity through inventory management, and learn to operate store equipment and systems and manage daily financial operations
• Participate in a structured training program covering operations, customer service, sales and profitability, staffing and scheduling, resolving stock deficiencies, performance reviews and the associate disciplinary process

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States and at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred
• At least 3 years of work experience and 3 years of leadership experience preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Travel is typically less than 5% overnight, and the work involves intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing and lifting material or equipment. The position reports to the Store Manager and has no direct reports.
