New Grad RN Resident - High-Acuity Cardiac Stepdown

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking new graduate registered nurses to join the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute on its high‑acuity Cardiac Stepdown units. Residents will work rotating 12‑hour day/night shifts providing care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a high‑acuity cardiac stepdown unit, including continuous telemetry monitoring.
• Participate in a residency core curriculum and receive mentorship from a success coach.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity, patient preferences, and resource availability.
• Identify and respond to clinical data indicating patient risk, initiating corrective actions.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records and seek supervision when needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience; ACLS certification required within the first year for critical care areas.
• Physical ability to perform patient handling, stand for extended periods, and work under stressful conditions.
