New Grad RN Resident – Float Pool

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join Cleveland Clinic's Float Pool, caring for post‑operative urology and overflow surgical patients. This one‑year accredited Nurse Residency provides hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, high‑technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to post‑operative urology patients, focusing on pain control, bowel and bladder function, DVT prevention, and ambulation.
• Participate in the residency core curriculum, including online modules, simulation labs, and hands‑on training.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records and respond to clinical data indicating patient risk.
• Collaborate with a success coach and interdisciplinary team to prioritize patient needs.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.
• Willingness to work rotating day/night shifts with weekend and holiday rotations.
