New Grad RN Resident – Digestive Disease General Surgery

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, a world‑class research and surgery environment, as a New Grad RN Resident on the H71 Digestive Disease General Surgery Unit. You will support complex abdominal surgeries and provide patient‑centered care from admission through discharge while completing a one‑year accredited Nurse Residency program.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity, preference and resources.
• Respond to data indicating patient health risk and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document care accurately in patients’ medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or American Red Cross.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute direct patient care experience.
