New Grad RN Resident - Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join Cleveland Clinic’s 24‑bed cardiovascular telemetry unit, caring for post‑open heart, surgical and VAD patients. This residency provides a structured curriculum, mentorship, and hands‑on experience with complex cardiac procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach, following evidence‑based protocols.
• Monitor and respond to complex cardiovascular conditions, including arrhythmias, heart failure, and post‑operative recovery.
• Participate in the residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work rotating day/night shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous patient coverage.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year if working in a critical area.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within one year of hire).
