Network Security Engineer

About the role

ExxonMobil is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement and manage the security posture of its enterprise network across data centers, offices and edge locations. The role combines hands‑on engineering with automation and DevOps practices to protect critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operate network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) across multiple regions and environments.
• Maintain and upgrade security appliances from vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco and Juniper, applying patches and firmware updates.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code solutions and automation scripts to achieve a “Zero‑Ops” management model.
• Monitor security events, conduct analysis, respond to incidents and manage vulnerability remediation.
• Evaluate security advisories, provide mitigation recommendations and participate in ad‑hoc assessments.
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, application and cybersecurity teams to align security controls with corporate policies.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise network security engineering.
• Strong understanding of security policies, threat landscape and best‑practice frameworks.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse technical teams.
• Experience with automation and DevOps methodologies.
