Neonatal Nurse Practitioner – Full‑Time with $30k Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides primary medical management and emergency stabilization for critically ill neonates and infants in the NICU. Working closely with the Medical Director, NICU Unit Director, and multidisciplinary staff, the role includes 24/7 in‑house coverage and participation in high‑risk deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of NICU patients, conduct daily rounds, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Provide emergency transport of neonatal patients and precept NNP students.
• Teach NICU residents, staff nurses, and parents, and lead staff development and education initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, coordinators, and discharge teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in nursing (or NNP certificate for pre‑2003 hires).
• Minimum 2 years of related nursing experience.
• Current APRN Nurse Practitioner license in Louisiana with limited prescriptive authority.
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification from the National Certification Corporation.
• Current BLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications.
