MRI Technologist (Per Diem, Part‑time)

About the role

The MRI Technologist (Per Diem) performs complex magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images while providing patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Review MRI orders, verify patient identity, and confirm appropriateness of exams.
• Operate MRI scanners and related equipment, troubleshoot artifacts, and adjust scan parameters.
• Position patients, use immobilization and protective equipment, and maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist radiologists with imaging, IV placement, contrast injection, and interventional MRI procedures.
• Evaluate image quality, process and archive images to PACS, and document procedures in UChart/Radiant.
• Provide patient education, obtain consent, and respond to emergencies, including BLS and Code Blue.
• Maintain clean work area, stock supplies, and provide on‑call coverage as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging program.
• BLS certification required; ARRT registration and certification in primary modality (or within one year of hire).
• One year of relevant experience preferred; new graduates from accredited programs considered.

Required skills

• Operation of MRI scanners and coils.
• Use of power injectors and administration of contrast media.
• Image processing, archiving to PACS, and documentation in UChart/Radiant.
• Patient positioning, immobilization, and aseptic technique.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response.
