MRI Technologist 3 – Full‑Time

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist 3 to perform complex MRI procedures, ensure high‑quality diagnostic images, and support patient care in a fast‑paced academic medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and verify MRI orders, ensure appropriateness, and resolve discrepancies with physicians.
• Perform complex MRI scans, position patients, operate contrast injectors, and adhere to safety and aseptic protocols.
• Evaluate image quality, label and transmit studies to PACS, and charge procedures in UChart/Radiant.
• Assist radiologists with interventional MRI procedures, IV placement, and contrast administration.
• Provide on‑call coverage, maintain a clean work area, and support training of new and student technologists.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging program.
• CPR and BLS certification; ARRT registration and certification in primary modality (or within one year of hire).
• State of Florida General Radiographer license preferred.
• Five years of relevant experience preferred, but new graduates from accredited schools will be considered.

Required skills

• Operation of MRI scanners and related equipment.
• Contrast media administration and power injector operation.
• Use of PACS for image storage and transmission.
• Patient identification, consent acquisition, and aseptic technique.
