Mission Operations Engineer (Program)

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to lead the deployment, validation, and continuous improvement of autonomous surface vessels. You will work within the Integrity & Performance team, ensuring that our maritime platforms meet rigorous technical and operational standards through structured testing and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of vehicle hardware and software architecture and how the system operates as an integrated whole.
• Plan and execute field tests covering autonomous navigation, perception, communications, sensor integration, and other vessel functions.
• Troubleshoot autonomy, networking, and onboard hardware/software issues in real time during test events.
• Maintain data logging and telemetry monitoring systems to guarantee data integrity for post‑test analysis.
• Lead root‑cause corrective action (RCCA) and issue‑triage workflows, reporting findings to review boards.
• Support day‑to‑day operation of autonomous vessels and support craft using telemetry and diagnostics.
• Ensure testing complies with DoD performance, safety, and compliance standards when applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on engineering experience in design, testing, or integration of autonomous systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and deliver results.
