Mid-Level Software Developer – Secure Systems

About the role

We are seeking a motivated mid-level Software Developer to join our team at Redstone Arsenal. In this role you will design, develop, test and enhance secure software applications that support mission-critical operations. An active Top Secret clearance is required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and debug new applications and enhancements.
• Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Address customer-reported problems and implement user-suggested improvements.
• Create and maintain software documentation and user manuals.
• Support desktop application design and integration with standard software packages.
• Implement security lockdowns, conduct testing and ensure compliance with security protocols.
• Integrate applications with automated patching and deployment technologies.
• Automate deployment and configuration of software updates.
• Participate in user training and documentation for software rollouts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of software development experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java or C#.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of AWS services, RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, OpenSearch and Keycloak.
• Understanding of PKI/SSL and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps and automated deployment tools.
• Experience with Windows desktop application development and configuration management.
