Mid-Career Cybersecurity Engineer (Software-in-the-Loop Simulation)

About the role

Cortina Solutions is seeking a mid‑level Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. The role focuses on cyber event analysis, incident response, and maintaining RMF/ATO documentation for naval simulation and test networks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cybersecurity and IT support for Department of the Navy information systems, ensuring compliance with SECNAV M‑5239.2.
• Conduct cyber event monitoring, log correlation, vulnerability assessments, and update RMF artifacts.
• Manage eMASS/POA&Ms, support ATO documentation, and apply security controls to software development.
• Utilize DOD‑approved tools such as DISA STIG Viewer, DISA SCAP Tool, Tenable ACAS, and McAfee HBSS/ePolicy Orchestrator.

Required profile

• 3‑7+ years of civilian or military experience in cybersecurity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• CompTIA Security+ certification and active DOD TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DOD Authority to Operate (ATO) process.

Required skills
