Metrology Technician – Entry Level Calibration Role

About the role

The Metrology Technician supports Bionique Testing Laboratories’ GMP‑regulated laboratory by performing calibrations, preventive maintenance, and equipment monitoring. This entry‑level position ensures that all laboratory and facility instruments remain accurate, traceable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine calibrations, preventive maintenance, and performance checks on assigned laboratory and facility instruments.
• Assist with installation, operational, and performance qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) activities, including equipment setup, data collection, and documentation.
• Support equipment setup, relocation, labeling, release, and decommissioning processes.
• Monitor equipment status, report alarms or abnormal conditions, and participate in after‑hours support as needed.
• Help with temperature mapping and air monitoring of laboratory spaces under direction.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework or vocational training in instrumentation, electronics, or laboratory technology is preferred.
• Ability to follow established procedures, communicate clearly, and manage multiple assignments with appropriate supervision.
• Basic knowledge of occupational safety requirements and willingness to work in laboratory environments.
• Reliable transportation to the Saranac Lake location.
