Medical Technologist / Lab Technician IV – Automated Chemistry

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician IV to work in the Automated Chemistry area of Clinical Biochemistry. This full‑time evening position (3:00 pm‑11:30 pm) involves performing and interpreting laboratory tests of all complexity levels.

Key responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting, and record‑keeping.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge, adhere to quality control policies, and document instrument calibrations and maintenance.
• Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and address any quality‑control issues promptly.
• Maintain instruments according to manufacturer specifications and ensure accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science/technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets CLIA qualifications for high‑complexity testing personnel (grandfathering clause).
• Certification eligible or certified as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT, MLS) by ASCP or AMT preferred.
• Commitment to continuing education, professional development, and annual competency assessment.

Required skills

• PCR knowledge.
• Pipetting experience.
• Familiarity with CLIA high‑complexity testing regulations.
