Medical Technologist 2 – Cellular Therapy Lab

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine seeks a full‑time Medical Technologist 2 to join the cellular therapy laboratory on the UHealth campus. The incumbent will process bone marrow and stem cell products, perform routine testing, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process bone marrow and stem cell specimens, calculate final cellular characteristics, and prepare cellular therapy products for infusion.
• Perform blood component preparation, quality‑control testing, equipment QC, and maintain accurate documentation of all procedures.
• Manage inventory control, transport cellular therapy products between clinical sites and the Central Tissue Lab, and receive products from external donor sites.
• Train and orient new laboratory staff on techniques, sterile practices, and equipment operation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred) and a valid State of Florida Medical Technologist license.
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably with cellular therapy or blood banking.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed and handle confidential information with discretion.
