About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) works within a multidisciplinary team at the Student Health Center, providing clinical diagnostic testing for primary care, gynecology, and specialty services. The role emphasizes accurate testing, problem resolution, and collaborative patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment, conduct performance checks, and document quality improvement activities.
• Interpret, verify, and report test results using the lab information system and electronic health record; notify providers of critical values.
• Perform venipunctures, collect and label specimens, manage inventory, and coordinate specimen transport.
• Enter and distribute laboratory, insurance, and billing data while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, complete required trainings, and serve as a technical consultant for the laboratory team.
