Medical Director

About the role

The Medical Director leads all clinical activities at ChesPenn Health Services, ensuring high‑quality, culturally sensitive care across our community health centers. This senior physician role combines direct patient care with oversight of clinical staff, quality programs, and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the Quality Committee and other healthcare committees, setting standards and benchmarks.
• Lead the development, monitoring, and implementation of the annual Clinical Health Care Plan and Quality Assurance Program.
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and protocols, establishing performance standards.
• Oversee hospital backup arrangements, admitting privileges, and specialty referral patterns.
• Approve provider schedules, after‑hours and weekend call systems, and ensure adequate coverage.
• Participate in Board meetings and collaborate on grant writing and implementation.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited school and residency in family medicine, internal medicine, or related specialty.
• At least two years of leadership experience in a primary‑care setting; familiarity with FQHCs is a plus.
• Active Pennsylvania physician license and board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
• Demonstrated ability to manage clinical staff, analyze complex data, and make critical healthcare decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
